Summary:
We've seen the 8 Series in Gran Coupe form as the
M8 Gran Coupe Concept and in
patent drawings, but here's the first looks at the actual 8 Series Gran Coupe (G16) prototype, in M Sport / M850i form.
As the 8 Series Coupe is
shorter in length and wheelbase while also being wider and lower than the 6 Series Coupe it replaces, we also expect that the 8 Series Gran Coupe will compare the same to the 6 Series Gran Coupe.
The 8 Series Gran Coupe (G16) will arrive in 2019 as a 2020 model in the U.S. The U.S. will see an 840i, 840i xDrive and M850i xDrive (with 530hp). Europe will also receive an 840d model.
The M850i xDrive model will be powered by the N63TÜ3 engine - a twin turbo V8 outputting 530hp.
