For example, I usually advised my DUI clients to register in Maryland, so that Virginia can't take away your drivers license. And they can still keep driving.

Pretty sure that would be a nightmare here in AZ and no where near the hassle. If the pic was clean I'd gladly pay the fine, sit through an online drivers ed course (erases the points on the DL) and move on.
