May I ask what color?? and then what your defination of "factory new" is?

The colors Lexus traditionally comes out with allow you to do things like this and never really notice any problems. That being said, I think the cars look quite dull from a color point of view. My mother has a Lexus ES in a goldish metalic color. Gets it detailed once per year and then runs it through the car wash in the winter and has my father wash it in the summer. It looks good still (it's about 6+ years old now), but put it next to my mystic blue car with 5 coats of zaino on it and there is absolutely no comparison My father even made the same comment when I drove down over Christmas.
