I don't think so - it's the other cars forum, after all. And I found your assumptions about other forum members as offensive as anything the OP wrote. Ignoring that though, I think he's gotten some informatiove replies, some from Ferrari owners, iirc.
My own opinion is that, if he's looking for a daily driver sports car, the search begins and ends with Porsche. The 911 is an icon not just because of its performance, but its relative ease of use and - for a sports car - sensible running costs. And if he still wants turbo performance, an early 996 TT will run not much more than his current 335i; I also think the 996TT looks a LOT better than the new one.
