Indeed NY hits tax on the sum of the lease payments. But things are even worse in states like Texas where the tax on a lease is based off the full negotiated price of the car!!!
Leasing in Texas is not favorable unless one has unique taxation processes. |
Texas pay full tax on lease like you said. Not a good state to lease
