BMW would probably be happy if M8 sales figures matched the outgoing M6.
Didn't they just take a massive loss of the whole i8 fiasco?

With that being said, I would buy the M8 as I chase GT dreams and replay memories I made recently driving through the desert. I would probably be happier reliving them in the M8 than I would in a GT3, for various reasons, aesthetics being the main one.
Also I don't buy used cars. It's stupid, I know but I just can't.
After all the purchase and delivery (state side or euro) is supposed to be part of the experience.

Finally, some mentioned P cars and McLaren.
It all depends on the lifestyle. I can drive around without being noticed in a M8 where I couldn't show up in a GT3 or 570S without drawing too much attention.

Buy the car that makes you happy within your means, no reason not to since you can only drive one at a time and you only have so many hours of seat time, what's the point of a 4 car garage? uh, @Sedan_Clan ? Now, using that money to buy a second home in the desert to dash to for the weekend.... that makes more sense.
