So a few things. BMW and Porsche are two different animals. BMW makes great cars, and SUV's and motorcycles etc. Porsche is a sports car company, always has been and always will be. They branched out a few years ago ( broke my heart ) but at their core they are a sports car company. There are a few manufactures that have stayed true to their roots, and BMW isn't one of them.
If you can manage it, get both. And then see if you want to keep both or keep the one that speaks to you. You can by a good 964 and keep it for a year and not lose any money, and your 850 will hold it's value.....then let your heart decide. Life is short....I always wanted one, and made up my mind (with my wifes permission) to get one.
