Yep, same was true for my M3, I was thrilled if I got 10000 miles out of tires, especially the rears. It's a much softer compound to provide the grip, so they'll wear out much quicker. Sure, you could go to something else... but you'll be sacrificing traction.

I have about 15,000 miles on my car... about 6,000 of that has been on winter tires, so for my remaining 9,000 on the MPS4S - I have replaced 2 front and 4 rear.
