I would conclude it follows the body lines to some extent, but it is not 100% straight or level with ground. Your idea of using a template is great as in that way you will most probably match it better. I think also looking at pictures and having them color printed and next to you during install is also a valuable help.  |
Thanks for this, very kind of you. Later today I'll take some pics with some additional areas for you to measure. The template will be key for me, as mentioned I'm too much of a perfectionist not to mount them exactly where they should be, but if we can't get one then your info will be critical for anyone wanting to do this. I'd imagine any BMW authorized body shop in the EU can get the template/link to one.
