I’m now in a new 840i with OEM Goodyear tyres so will be keeping a close eye. This one is RWD whereas the diesel was XDrive if that could be a common denominator, as it sounds like it probably isn’t being caused by one brand of tyre only.
From what I’ve seen, the issue seems more common in xDrive cars - which incidentally are a lot heavier at the front (840d block is quite a bit heavier than the petrol, and the 850i is heavier being a V8). I’m still running Potenza S007’s and the car has just ticked over 8k miles and wear on all tyres is even - I’ve frequently put the fronts on full lock and had a good look with an inspection lamp and they look all good. I’m still planning to change though - most likely Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3, which seem to get glowing reviews, and over £300 cheaper than a set of PS4S.
