Simple question: Assume you are a single late 20-something guy living in the 70's, 80's & 90's, what car would you buy? Also assume you have a job with slightly above average pay for that decade, so no expensive cars like Porsche, BMW M, MB AMG, Corvette, etc. Since this is a BMW board, let's do BMW and non-BMW.
