I had that problem in my m850i convertible. it's the reason I bought bimmercoded on day 2 and quickly coded it off. it's been 3 years and I don't hear it. but I never turned it back On.
it's been off for 3 years minus 2 days; day 1 and one day when my software was updated at the dealership.
