The last thing I would trust is the BMW USA website's configurator after the Driving Assistance Package vs Package 2 debacle of last year. In fact after reporting the issue last August it took them 5 months to fix that as the Driving Assistance Package is now live and they removed the Package 2 (which I never understood why it existed in the first place as whom is going to choose it to save $600 and forgo 3D Camera View, Parking Assistant Plus and Drive Recorder on a $120K+ car).
Best thing to do is to check local inventory of GC's with the option and go see one to ensure manual vs power. Unless BMW FUBAR'd the design I would expect power rear side shades on the 8 series.
