They are driving 100 to 110 mph any lane! State cops usually drive fast if they have an emergency! Not an excuse to drive fast and risk someone else's just because He/she is late for work or a narsaccistic prick.
Driving fast has nothing to do with driving unsafe. If the conditions allow for it, driving fast is a lot safer than being in the passing lane and be one of those know it all moving roadblocks. I am from Germany and I can tell you that going fast is not a dangerous activity, when the conditions allow for it.
