that doesnt make any sense.
When 3d printing titanium becomes commoditized you could download a cad file and send it to the stop and they would make it for you. I'd imagine prices would come down enough that they would be quite a bit cheaper than the steel forged ones coming from HRE.

But seriously, downloading and printing your own wheels from Bucky the 14 year old from Bakersfield sounds great and all, but I think I'll continue to trust engineers and companies with insurance and warranties when it comes to wheels.
I'm a bicyclist and have seen a number of catastrophically failed carbon parts from "the same plant that the big guys use" to trust whackadoodle design.
