They're grossly overpriced and depreciate so poorly, it's hard not to see why. A friend of mine rented an 850 convertible off Turo and I got to drive the car relatively hard. I got the impression the car was confused between how sporty vs. luxo barge it wanted to be. It's heavy, difficult to see out of, a bit boaty, and the steering response is a little slow. On the flipside, it had some sporting elements such as a stiff ride, brutally amazing engine/exhaust note, and narrow seats that pinch the sides.
To its credit however, it seems like nothing in that segment sells well besides the 911 and AMG GT, however those are priced way higher and feel more like halo cars whereas the 8er just looks and feels like a big BMW.
