My last inquiry aside I think you need to start with a 840i Xdrive. I get it where you are coming from as when I ordered my wife's 2017 X5 I chose Sdrive as it is all that is needed especially considering here in Phoenix snow is not a factor whatsoever. I'm not sure if the 2017 X5 Xdrive included active rear wheel steering or not but it's part of the M850i and would assume so for the M840i Xdrive. The key being it is a godsend when navigating tight cornering, e.g., your local Starbucks drive thru and dozens of other applications including a U-turn on a two way road is a breeze. Plus, it's fantastic on "spirited drives" as well.
