Not at all. You pop the engine cover off which just clips on. Two connectors and you're done. Connectors can be tricky, but theirs a "how-to" video on their site to guide you.
Honestly, theirs nothing wrong with the other options. For me what sealed the deal was the price, app, and tunning of the TT module. You can tune when you want the boost to kick in, how smooth, and how much boost. Currently, I'm running a really gradual slope up to 3+ pounds, starting at 6psi. Meaning that the signal is intercepted at 6psi and starts to add boost gradually from that point.
