The Porsche dealership experience is also top notch and significantly better than the BMW experience (although leaving Porsche with a much lighter wallet after service is never fun).
And yet I got an M850. Why? Because I wanted a grand tourer, with a trunk for carrying stuff and with (somewhat useable) back seats that can fold. Wanted AWD, a 500+ hp engine, and a design style that was different. The C4S has a terrible back seat, no trunk, cost another 40-50k more, and….911’s are everywhere on the road.
Now, I was not able to get everything I wanted, specifically, for the M850 price, I wanted a special interior and that’s the weakest part of the 8 series imo, and then there’s the dealership…which is ok, but really just above average.
At least I still have the Macan and get to join in on Porsche events plus I get to enjoy the M850 so it’s like the best of both worlds.

My local BMW dealership experience has gone completely downhill. So far 1h into my Porsche experience I'm happy.
I agree - the 8 has all that. I
love the car and everything it has, but want something a little less GT next time around and the 911 is about 13" shorter.
