You have them send you a video of the air blowing but you won't know if it's hot or cold. And using the MAX AC button is a work around that blows cold air.
So unless you're in a hot car, and don't use the AC button; you're not going to know if it works or not.
I think it's such a unique product and problem, that you're going to have to test it in person. Although any BMW dealerships should be able to order the parts and fix it.
