My thought exactly... the new M5 is virtually just the old engine with a slight tune & a replacement transmission that allows for more torque.
Hell, I'm now dissapointed that not just BMW but also Merc have moved away from clutch-based transmissions... the MCT could handle the torque (590 in my CLS63 AMG), not sure why it was canned. Apparently auto's are just that much more superior.
