Exhaust Gurgle

I’ve looked on here for similar posts but none seem to be here.
I test drove an m850i in April last year for a couple of days, and I absolutely loved it, especially the gurgle / burble when coming down through the gears.
Fast forward a year and I got one of my own. Although I absolutely love it, and it makes my 6 convertible before it feel like a Mini, there’s one thing that seems to be missing: that burble gurgle. It’s the same engine, with almost the same spec and even a bit higher.
Was this gurgle the result of an extra that I wasn’t aware of, as try as I might I can’t hear it even in Sport Plus. Is it something that comes as the engine ages (I’ve only managed to do 2k since mid May)? Assistance would be appreciated.
