I respect your natural inclination to defend the starting QB of your home team, but the key to the 49ers' 3 straight NFC championship games is not because of Kaepernick. He's never even had a game winning drive in his young NFL career. The 49ers usually either pull off a win by way of a defensive stop or a FG kick (Akers and Dawson)

Several NFL expert analysts can't be wrong about Kaepernick's inability to be a winning QB.

I could keep on going, but I hope you get the idea. The bottom line is that it only takes a few games to determine whether the kid's got it or not. I can only wish the 49ers don't ride him for 8 seasons like they did with Alex Smith. It's clear that he's not the answer now, and I would hate to waste another season just to try to see if he can turn things around.
