What happened to BMW building cars that handle well through a track?

Do you guys really care about this straight line speed? Is it 1977 and we're racing camaros and mustangs at lights?

Congrats BMW, you make fast boats now. This car is like 5,000lbs. The 5 series is the size of the old 7, 3 series size of the 5. Boring.

I just... don't care about straight line speed. Theres so much more to driving

Oh and I'll take the Mustang for significantly less $$. $130K and up is for Porsches
Yeah, 99.9% of all BMW owners will never track their car....so straight line speed is what matters, either from the stop or passing on the highway
Imagine this - living somewhere with windy roads (and) hills
Imagine snow and rain and slush and traction and an interior that's a joy to be in and 3,200 mile drives that are fun and relaxing and ambient lighting that adds to it all and gesture controls and self driving and a carbon core for weight distribution and rigidity and electric windows shades and 3D surround-view for parking and an infotainment system not based on something Microsoft puked out in the 1990s (doh!) and massage seats... wait, the M8 doesn't have those.

This is like comparing a bicycle to a donkey—pointless. Guess which one the BMW is.
