LeBron signing with the Lakers is a family move first, then basketball move second. He's making sure Bronny Jr. and Bryce get all the right opportunity with education and athletics, all while his family gets to experience the SoCal elite lifestyle.

If LeBron was dead set on winning a championship, his best options would've been Celtics, Rockets, and 76ers. The Lakers are still a starting Center and a true closer (e.g. Kyrie) away from contending, so winning titles clearly wasn't his top priority with his decision this time around.

LeBron will be 36 years old in year 3, and 37 in the final year of his 4-year contract. If this is the same LeBron who quit on his team in the 3rd quarter of game 4 in the 2017-2018 Finals, then I wouldn't be surprised to see LeBron be content with just padding his regular season stats, and calling it a career this way...
