Def better than an i8. I had one but had 5 other cars (991 GT3, 991 Turbo S, 997.2 Turbo S, e92 M3, lifted Jeep) at the same time so after the novelty wore off I parked the i8 outside and forgot about it for 2 years and then turned it back in with low miles.
The M8 coupe is ok but not a great car. I prefer driving the 991 Turbo S and even the e92 M3 if I need more room. Basically the M8 is my choice if I want to drive slow and make a phone call.
