I may have copied that first one from the wrong folder. A few things...
So, I made a shared folder and try and had my pictures to that and copy the pictures from that folder. One of the annoying things is that if I delete the picture from my phone it deletes it from my Google photos folder and then the picture is no longer visible where I posted it. It's a better quality picture linking it from Google photos than it is just straight uploading it via the app. I was hoping if I added a picture to the shared folder but deleted it from the main folder that it would stay in the shared folder but that doesn't seem to work. But it is very handy I will say that shortly after I take a picture with my phone it's uploaded to the Google photo site and I can just go copy the link as you describe. Google also gives the option of, "add to shared folder". But heck if I can figure out where that official "shared folder" is.
