The car was not parked in the garage, it was parked in the driveway. I drove the car into the driveway, then opened the garage door, then the door in the garage providing entrance to the house to let the cat out. Then I walked to the mailbox, that's when the car struck me.
Never said the car was in the garage. I would be more amazed had I been driving the car and it ended up in the garage with out my opening the garage door. Those events would be very strange.
To clarify, I worked on paint correction, during the rain, in the garage on Saturday and Sunday. I drove the car to work on Monday. Never had the opportunity to check the end results of my work due to lack of sun. The clouds had lifted by the time I got home from work on Monday so rather than pulling into the garage, I left Christine in the driveway so I could check for spots that I may have missed during the weekend due to low light visibility.
