I read the book when it came out without knowing that the main character was all Danny grown up until I read a bit and put it all together.
It was a really great story on its own, but the fact that it tied up and put some closure on the Shining was a HUGE bonus. One of my top favorite SK novels. I am hoping the movie to be just as well done as the Shining was.
