If you don't mind the harsh ride, X4M is a decent vehicle, although Porsche just nails the ride and handling balance, and the looks too.
I am a total amateur to Porsche . Last decade since college it's only been M and AMG vehicles for me . I got an insane deal early spring this year on my Cayenne. It was a single owner car unfortunately the original owner passed and his wife just wanted this off from garage . I made a bonkers stupid offer all cash she accepted . Drove 1900 miles in 7 months . I'm still learning the car as I drive more between sports mode Porsche exhaust and manual mode. Drives good but speed pick up it lacks big time.
You'll definitely want to test drive an X3/4M then, the engine is much stronger on the top end than low down, X3/4 M40i could also be good options.
I have an m8 convertible which I am definitely keeping for at least a year. I just sold my m850 to order. 2021 m3 comp to replace it . The engine is the same as the new x3/x4m. That's the only thing holding me back . Might just keep the Porsche not sure I'm having local car enthusiasts offering me 46-47k for it . It's kept super well . I wanted to get a Gle53 coupe as daily but since Mercedes decided to stop swaps on their leased cars that changed everything for me as I switch cars all the time.
