Thanks and appreciate the reply as I figured it is just not a one-off situation for me but rather a bug within the overall system. On the event the other day one thing I noticed was the Connected Drive "globe" was not showing up on the top icons of the iDrive menu which is always there when the car is communicating with the BMW "cloud". My icon may be different as I have customized privacy settings which I'm guessing is represented in the shield icon within the globe.
