The Porsche marketing magic has a lot of influence but it also over exaggerates and it’s newer demographic just eats it up as the gospel.

30 years of 911 ownership. Club racing, Concourse, etc... Hell yea BMW competes with Porsche in that demographic but for different driving experiences. There is no one correct ideology in a performance car. Porsche does it their way and BMW does it their way with equally conviction.

I recently traded in my C4S for a M2C and am loving the neutral rwd monster. It’s all what you are after as speed is a given with all of them. It comes down to what kind of visceral driving experience you prefer. I still own a classic air-cooled 911 as its as pure of the 911 experience you can get. That said, the 911 experience in its truest form is raw, uncomfortable and gets old real quick if you were expecting it to be a luxury car.
