Agree not to be compared. I'm shopping to add an M8 comp to the stable. Got test drives alone in the M8 and liked it except visibility seems compromised. Fast from a stop but seemed to be hampered from a roll as i could feel the transmission protections intervening. It will be used as a daily and to haul surfboards and get dirty and not wash it. Will replace an e92 M3.

The 991 Turbo S doesn't have the cap on performance with the encryption issues on the M8 TCU and with a couple bolt ons my 991 can do nearly 150 in the 1/4 mile and over 180 in the half mile. And it puts the power to the ground 0-60mph low 2's all day. I am literally afraid to bring it to the track - so I bring the 991 GT3 instead. GT3 also not comparable to the M8 comp at all. GT3 is light and with a couple track tweaks (alignment, brakes), it can be ran at a track all day long where the M8 could not handle similar conditions due to the weight.

But as a daily, the M8 has both beat. Super comfortable and nice tech. I'm not in a hurry and monitoring the tuning developments as this has a lot of potential once the TCU encryption is broken.
