Lol, I had a 73 MG Midget in high school (gorgeous sky blue over black with some lovely knock off wheels in amazing shape) while I worked at a place called British American motors and this is very true. I pushed that Mg almost as much as I drove it and every cent I "made" working at this British sports car shop went back into my MG...until I bought the MR2 and the MG started to languish.
