I agree, the 90s were a low point for the Germans. The Japanese had far superior designs and reliability at that point. The Germans learned a lot from the Japanese design in the 90s and refined their cars. They were much better in the 2000s and beyond.
The 1990s was the hey day of Japanese sports cars. Most of their offerings today are disappointing and too pricey.
