What do you mean cowl shake and flex?

The loss of rigidity due to lack of roof causes the chassis to flex and twist. When crossing railroad tracks you feel it as vibrations and flexing think of it as a twisting motion front to back. All convertibles have it, but shorter vehicles like a boxster or 911 are much better plus they are built from the ground up as a roofless design. The M6 had it especially after I went from the coupe. It also rattled more and the dash had lots of squeaks over time. It's the trade off for a roofless vehicle.
