BMW and Tesla are the front runners in electric car tech at the moment. And they do different things well. I think you've got that wrong, Teslar partnered with Mercedes (DaimerAG sold there 4% in Teslar last month), they have a partnership with Toyota, another deal in the works with Nissan and are talking to BMW but don't have a tie up yet.
