I guess you buy an R8 if you've already had a M3, a 911, a Vantage, a 911 GT3, and a 911 Turbo. The R8 does nothing particularly well and as a package doesn't do anything better than the competition.
Completely agree with all of the above except in the case of the R8 spyder which is, to me, just drop dead gorgeous.
