This article has some points on why the writer chose Canon over Nikon. Take it with a grain of salt, but he does bring up some interesting points. Both are great cameras. One reason why I bought my Canon is because most everyone I know has one, which means I can borrow lenses or ask for advice from fellow Canon users.
