I’ve got an M550. After the engine and 0-60 time, I’d say they’re pretty different cars. Looks, interior (especially the seats and driving position), and the way they drive are all different.
I love my M550 and I love the 8 series I got to drive for a week. So both are badass machines. I’d just drive both and you’ll know quickly which is for you or which you want right now.
I shopped 850’s after I had the 840 for a week. I decided to wait another year then consider M850 and F90 again. But the price OP quoted is pretty in line with what I’ve seen.
