Like most things Motor Trend I disagree.
First generation 67-69 Great
Second generation 1970–1981 Growing on me all the time.
Third generation 1982–1992 Sad waste of plastic
Fourth generation 1993–2002 Not much better that the third gen
Fifth generation 2010–2015 Getting back to it roots
Sixth generation 2016–2024 Serious car in the right build
I would draw the generation lines differently, but sticking to your years:

First - agree
Second - love it, personal experience with this one, very raw
Third - quite a few personal memories with these, but average automobiles
Fourth - the worst imo
Fifth and sixth - agree, no personal experience, just appreciation from afar

70-73
74-78
79-81
82-92
93-02
