Standard car theory here but Jan 1 wont be a big deal since the 24's were out already a few months back or whenever.

The bigger weight on my year of car is not the year but now the mileage. Its all good, I knew I was going to take a hit when I got my 23 back in August of 22; but I did get the base comp msrp of 130k vs the next batch of 23's at 134k. Now the 24's are 136800 so that helps in valuation if one likes to dream that M coupes hold value LOL.
I bought a 2022 M850i when 2023 were already on the lots. It was a big mistake because it had no meaningful discount and being a year older hurt resale even further.

I wonder why there's so many low mileage used ones? If you buy an 8 series and know what to expect, it's far from being a terrible car (except for depreciation). Maybe a lot of buyers get spooked by the depreciation they were not prepared for and bail as a result?
