I have a diesel Nissan patrol and I added an egt gauge to monitor exhaust gas temps . Very good , as I can back off if the temps are high . It only takes taking your right foot off the gas for a a little to cool things down. All cars are the same but no one ever knows. The gas full peddle down should be used as like a ( boost ) button for short bursts of power. Best to treat a motor with respect . If you look after it , it will look after you 😉.
