If you get a hubcentric setup and its properly installed, there are no issues from a function standpoint. Form of course will be improved with no unsightly tuck gaps from the back and sides.
Cons: bad install or cheap spacers that dont have a proper snout which will lead to wobbles, vibrations, and other issues. Of my current stable I have spacers on the R8, M8, C63 BS.... the AMG has custom wheels and the Porsche has centerlocks (impossible to space correctly)
Ive been using proper spacers for years on over 20+ of my cars especially with the improvement of good looking OEM wheels where the only detractor is the offset so they are too sunk in. Hell, Porsche even had spacer options in their builds on their 991's for years.
