I mean, both are 2+2 coupes that can be used on a daily basis and cost over $100k. While they may not be direct competitors and share different characteristics such as a rear vs front engine and so on, both are essentially marketed as the brand's flagship sports car/GT car, they are likely paired together more than one would think though. My Sales Advisor said he's had a hard time trying to get 8 coupe/convertible sales (particularly the M850/M8) because of vehicles like the 911 or even the E and S-Class coupe which he said most of his potential customers would bring up when looking at the car.
