Honestly have never heard any traffic noise in my 2020 M850i coupe. Then again to get to the sweet spot of the B&W audio I'm at a minimum 50%. Thus, all I hear is the glorious audio system unless I have it turned down to hear the glorious engine.
That aside to your point it should be an option especially in a flagship series for those that want it. For me I'd pass and put my $3400 into the B&W as at least in my opinion it is 10x the value.
