Because that's exactly what they did - they made it more stiffer which is what they do with all competition models. It doesn't mean they offered a lesser or inferior suspension on the non-competition model.
You're assuming that the base suspension is worse and at the same time, assuming that everyone wants the revised suspension offered on the competition. Not everyone wants a stiffer riding car.
