Snowbimmer thank you for those pictures. One of them is now my screensaver, I can't say which. I got a chuckle out of the "plan your work and then work your plan" By the way what happened to the beautiful blue when you took pictures of the Kicking Horse River? Thanks again.

Fantastic trip write up and photos!
My wife and I honeymooned in those areas, those pictures brought back a lot of great memories. Unfortunately, one of them wasn't so great and involved a drive on the Icefields parkway...we were following a large camper trailer truck and watched as it struck and killed a cyclist. The driver had drifted off the road onto the shoulder. We were the first to arrive and tend to the cyclist, who unfortunately did not survive :-( The driver of the camper never stopped, even though it was obvious he had hit someone. They eventually set up a road block and apprehended him later. |

The extreme blue water disappears when you get out of the main Rockies. Probably different rock flour in the glacier runoff. The Kicking Horse is a few ranges and several valleys further west. It's just kinda greenish gray brown. |

As for your "Where to next" question - here in Colorado we have a mountain or two...actually we have more mountains over 14,000 feet than anywhere else in North America. There are some amazing sites to see and things to do in this state - have you been? Maybe here next.... |

To wit, for a couple of ridiculously long threads: Sep 2021 in an M5C https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1865068 Loved it sooooo much we went back in Sep 2022 - for an even better, Colorado specific, trip in the M850 https://f92.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1966646 2nd thread is Colorado in ALL its glory. Told the wife we should just make Colorado a standing September trip. Wow. Wow. Wow. I truly hate anyone who gets to live in Colorado. Well, not Beemer people.
