Reminds me a lot of other new Benz interiors, Panamera interior, & old AM interior in terms of that "flowing" console type of design.... just meh, disappointing compared to the outgoing 6.
Now that car had quality interior styling... |

I actually appreciate buttons in an area where luxury cars are going reducing the amount of buttons. It turns out it's a lot more distracting having buttonless, digital functions because you have to dig more in the menu than you do relative to buttons. Tesla's UX interior is beginning to see customer complaints w/ the near buttonless design. It's turned to be a bit of a hubris

Touch screens are just not as user friendly for driving. I still like using idrive over the new touch screens in the 7.

Liked it.
Loving the new digital displays and overall layout and quality but it looks like too many buttons for me for a sports car.
Can’t wait to get behind the wheel and go for that first drive. |

This is basicly like when the first interiour pics of the G10 came along, everyone compared it to the S and laughed their asses off.
This is a repeat. Well, red leather is nice, but not "classy". Remember the interiour of the F13, it was awsome, the 8 should be above that level, and more refined and modern. My concern is all the buttons on the steering wheel and around the shifter, less is more. But i think in general, looking close to the concept is a good thing, because that car looked like a million dollars. Let's wait it out a bit more.

I like buttons, I like feeling like I'm in a fighter jet. But these style of buttons are starting to look a little plain. For M8 level, I would expect something a bit more special, maybe some toggle switches or something to mix it up.

For my taste it looks good, really a nice update of the current 6.
But not that special... Look to the new 3, very similar. I think more & more that the 8 is just a new 6, only with a higher number and price. Not bad of course, i bet it’s gonna be an amazing BMW. But not that super high end luxury or sport car as they wanted to believe us. |

As expected, it's almost identical to the Concept aside from a few parts like the fancy steering wheel.
However rendering an interior special while settling for such a sober / discreet / restrained / understated look does require the finer details to stand out in shape or materials, like they do on the Concept. The production version however gets the same exact controls, air vents, center console cluster as the upcoming 3er, X5, X7... Very little special is left aside from the general Aston Martin-ish single unit dashboard shape. Especially the center air vents could have looked more refined as they play a major role in the dashboard's 'look' (just like the headlights do on a front fascia), something a bit more stylized with a thicker chrome strip like on the Concept would have been perfect while still adding the directional blades which seem to be missing on the Concept. Start engine button
Wrong place for START ENGINE button. In group with driving experience and other buttons. Very bad solution.

I think it's quite okay, but have to see the final product.
Honestly the Mercedes interior is a bit too much bling bling for me. I do like elegance and luxury, but I don't know, I'm not a big fan of it... too many curves, circles, applications, combined with that huge inelegant double display wall. Some of you said it looks too dated and there are too many buttons for a sports car. Not quite sure if sport car interior means less buttons. Especially if I look at the current Porsche interiors: |

They basically just copied the layout from my 2012 Audi S4. . . Lol. This is the only car I've EVER driven that has so many buttons I haven't yet memorized their locations and I still have to look down to do anything other than really basic wheel based scrolling etc.
