Please BMW no first edition in that "puke red" color on the M5.

Stick to M roots- understated and classy colors!

Agreed. Making an M8 and not an M7 seems weird, especially considering all the X series will get an M variation at some point as well. :

This is suppose to match the S Coupe... wish BMW had planned something to go against the AMG GT/GTS/GTR though... that'd be interesting

I don't get these SUV like mirrors on the new M cars...

If I have time, I'll have a crack at a render ;-). I've done 1st draft a couple of months ago, but it needs to be a little bit more "angular" looking, and of course updated with the latest wheels etc from the M5... I'd also change the ride height...

The 3 series nowadays as big as the 5's from 80's & 90's
Because most ppl who drives 3er in the 80's or 90's probably cant fit in now. Besides, most of Caucasian grow bigger physically every generation goes by.

Doesn't look nearly as exciting as the concept car. Now it looks mundane. Hoping they can capture more of the concept's substance in their production version.

I'm in if they put the V12 in it. A large GT doesn't seem complete without a full-out crazy grand touring engine. Yes, I know you don't need 12 cylinders... heck, only 6 these days... to make for a very powerful car. But there's something extremely special about a 12 fitted to a car like this. If they can find their way (like MB have), I'll likely place an order. If not... eh.

The M760 has a V12. There's no way in hell it doesn't make it to the halo M car. That's now the M8.

I hope you're right!

However, I'm not as confident. First the M760 isn't really an "M" car - it's an M-line car; notice, not an M7 (which BMW says there never will be). So, as far as engines go, the N74 isn't really an M-division engine.

Second, it "only" makes 601hp (as applied in the M760, at least), which is roughly what's being achieved in the new M5 V8. Typically, the argument for the V12 is smoothness and refinement - which I'd expect to be the case for an 860 variant (perhaps), while an M8 may still opt for the V8.

So, we'll see. If anything, I think we could possibly see an 860 alongside the M8... unless the M-division starts working on modifications to the N74... which I'd fully welcome... but doubt.
